RoomVent 2024: Researchers and Industry Leaders Gather to Promote Healthy Air Together
The much-anticipated conference, RoomVent 2024, is set to take place from April 23 to 26, 2024, at the Stockholm International Fairs (Stockholmsmässan). With the theme “Healthy Air Together,” the event will bring together researchers and industry leaders from around the world to discuss the latest developments and trends in ventilation and indoor climate.
Promoting Energy Efficiency in the Built Environment
The conference will focus on five areas, including indoor climate, ventilation and energy performance, modelling and measurement performance, commissioning and inspection, and industrial ventilation. Jaana Petherbielke, CEO of Swedvac (EMTF), which is co-hosting the event with Svensk Ventilation and Stockholmsmässan Nordbygg, emphasized the importance of the conference’s theme, especially given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
“It is important to meet across national borders. Not least, the pandemic has shown that solutions for fresh air and a healthy indoor climate are a field of research where we can really benefit from common solutions and be inspired by others. Hence the theme for the conference, Healthy Air Together,” Petherbielke said.
Scanvac’s Legacy Continues
This year’s RoomVent conference marks the return of the event to Sweden, 36 years after the first international research conference was held in Stockholm in 1987, organized by Scanvac, the Scandinavian Federation of Heating, Ventilation and Sanitary Engineering Associations in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.
Over the years, the Scanvac conference has been arranged in several countries, and it has always attracted great interest from the world of research and business. “The conversations and knowledge transfer taking place here influence the development of the indoor climate throughout the world,” Petherbielke noted.
Collaboration Across Industries
The conference will also feature a gala dinner, which is set to be a highlight of the event. Additionally, the conference will take place at the same time as Nordbygg, the largest fair for construction planning in the Nordics, which will give participants the opportunity to meet more industry representatives than ever before.
Lina Hann, project manager for Nordbygg, highlighted the synergy between the two events, saying, “It gives the participants at Scanvac’s RoomVent the opportunity to meet more industry representatives than in other places where these synergistic effects could not occur.”
Conclusion
RoomVent 2024 promises to be an exciting and informative event, providing researchers and industry leaders with a platform to discuss the latest trends and developments in ventilation and indoor climate. With a focus on collaboration and innovation, the conference aims to promote healthier indoor environments and energy efficiency in the built environment.
