Best Gnocchi Recipe [How to make]

This is my favorite gnocchi recipe. I’m not a professional chef, but I love to cook. And this is the best dish that I’ve ever made. It’s simple, but it’s so delicious. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Best Gnocchi Recipe

Ingredients:

1 pound potatoes

1 egg, beaten

1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting

2 tablespoons butter

1/4 cup chopped parsley

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. Prick potatoes several times with a fork and bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until very tender when pierced with a knife.
  3. Scoop out the flesh of the potatoes into a bowl and mash well.
  4. Stir in egg, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper until well blended.
  5. Stir in 1 cup of flour until the mixture forms a soft dough. If the dough is too sticky, add more flour a little bit at a time until it is no longer sticky.
  6. Dust a clean work surface with flour and turn the dough out onto the surface. Knead for 1 to 2 minutes to form a smooth dough.
  7. Cut the dough into 8 pieces and roll each one into a long rope about 1/2 inch in diameter. Cut each rope into 1-inch pieces to form the gnocchi dumplings.
  8. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat then reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for about 2 minutes. Butter will melt and foam on top of the water; watch carefully so that it does not boil over. Add gnocchi dumplings and cook for 3 to 5 minutes until they rise to the surface; remove with a slotted spoon as they are done cooking and transfer them to a serving platter lined with paper towels to drain excess water.
  9. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve immediately with your favorite sauce.

Conclusion

That’s it! This is my favorite gnocchi recipe. It’s so simple, but it’s so delicious. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
