A Helpful Introduction to My Hero Academia
If you’re looking for a new anime to watch, you can’t go wrong with My Hero Academia. Since it debuted in 2016, the show has become one of the most popular anime around, and it’s not hard to see why. With its exciting plot, lovable characters, and impressive action sequences, My Hero Academia has something for everyone.

The Plot
My Hero Academia is set in a world where superpowers, known as “Quirks”, are commonplace. The vast majority of the population has some sort of Quirk and those who don’t are looked down upon. The story follows Izuku Midoriya, a Quirkless boy who dreams of becoming a superhero like his idol All Might. When All Might finally take Izuku under his wing, Izuku enrolls in UA Academy, a prestigious school for heroes-in-training.
The Characters
One of the things that make My Hero Academia so special is the characters. While all of the characters are likable in their own way, there are a few standouts. Izuku Midoriya is the main character and protagonist of the series. He’s an incredibly determined young boy who never gives up on his dreams, no matter how impossible they may seem. All Might is Izuku’s mentor and the number one hero in the world. He’s a selfless person who is always looking out for others, even at great cost to himself. Lastly, there’s Katsuki Bakugo, Izuku’s rival and classmate at UA Academy. Bakugo is an arrogant hothead with a fiery temper, but he’s also fiercely loyal to those he cares about.
The Action Sequences
My Hero Academia features some of the best action sequences in any anime. The animators did an amazing job bringing to life the various Quirks and fight scenes. If you’re a fan of well-choreographed action scenes, you’ll definitely want to check out My Hero Academia.
